Shifting her weight uncomfortably, Cheshire made her way around the main building, heading for the cool lake. A bag hung heavily on her shoulder, stuffed with textbooks that nearly weighed more then she did. Skipping lunch again, Cheshire had preferred to spend her time in the library. It was much safer for everyone one if she stayed away from the large windows in the cafeteria, and there was thankfully very little glass in the columns of books.
At last she arrived at the coastline, her mind elsewhere thanks to the headphones that blasted music in her ears.Throwing her bag blindly on the floor, she stiffened with horror after noticing she had almost hit a boy. Looking closer, she could see that it was Hein.
"Argh - Sorry!" she squeaked, snatching up her bag again, and ripping out the ear-buds, "Did it hit you?"

Jennifer could tell by Theo's strained expression that he was fishing for something, but she remained silent with a teasing smirk on her face. How deliciously pathetic this was all turning out to be. A minute ago, she'd been feeling sorry for herself but then this boy came along to remind her that Jennifer Rise never stayed miserable for long, even if it was at the expense of others.
"Well, it looks like you've found a way to amuse yourself. Of course it be a lot more interesting if you used those powers on someone you actually know,"
His desperateness soften Chloe's expression as she listened to Shiloh spill out his problems. By the slight relief he exuded with each breath, it was obvious to he'd kept this all in a long time. Chloe could only 'tsk tsk' at his appearance though it was out of sympathy, not arrogance. Despite what Shiloh may have thought, Chloe understood exactly what his was going through.
With a thoughtful look on her face, Chloe pimply took a seat on her bed and politely crossed her legs, perfectly comfortable with the silence between them. She was sure he'd appreciate it too, enhanced hearing was painful and damn near torturous when it stood against boisterous American accents all jabbering at once. Right then Nadya popped into Chloe head, far from American but the epitome of agony to her ears, yet that little siren had no idea. No one of them did and often brushed off her temperament toward noise as nothing more than one of her many quirks. Yet this boy would understand, in their brief encounter, she'd never felt so exposed.
"Clean," Chloe finally said, gently nodding her head toward her immaculate room, "Clean everything. Smell everything,"
By his blank expression, Chloe knew that Shiloh was lost so with a tiny laugh, she popped up from her seat and made her way over to her closet. Flinging the doors open, she leaned down pulled out from behind her hung clothes, a wooden trunk. It was bright red, Renaissance style with with faded forget-me-nots embroidered along its outline and a family crest in the middle of its lid. She pulled open the brass latch and flipped the cover back, revealing stacks of well kept journals.
Chloe plucked one from the top and quickly flipped through it, scanning the pages until she found a page she liked. Cradling the journal to her chest, she made her way over to Shiloh before holding it out for him to peak at. Despite their condition, the pages looked an utter disaster, pink, blue and black ink raced across the pages, every direction in loopy cursive, not too mention that everything was written in French.
"See, scents," Chloe repeated, jabbing her finger at a list in pink, "Framboise, l'orange, fleur...toilet, it's all here, everything," She snapped the book close and tucked it under her arm. Then before she knew it, Chloe was spilling herself to Shiloh, unable to recover any bit of reservation she once had.
"You have to smell everything and know what calms you. I climb trees all the time, all the time! Know what excites you! Ah, that is very important, no? You have to know because if you get excited you may not be able to shut it off, understand? No? D'accord uh..." Chloe didn't know if anything she was telling Shiloh was clicking for him yet, but she'd never felt such excitement to help someone before. She couldn't help but grin at him as she spun her hand in the air in an attempt to find the words she needed. Finally it came out, between a fit of girlish giggles,
"I chased a rabbit the other day! I chased it! I don't know why or how but I made the note to myself. Don't go near any rabbits or I might try to eat them!" Chloe threw her head back and laughed so hard that she didn't even recognize herself. Where had all this personality come from? It felt so gratifying that she actually held her head from a faint dizzy spell. It had all been so overwhelming.
"But really, start cleaning all the time and don't forget, smell everything! Soon it will be so ingrained in you that your reactions will become natural, no? How do you say sub...sub...engrained, okay? Understand?" She gently placed a hand on his shoulder and squeezed it reassuringly, "It's going to be okay,"

Hein turned in surprise, has the bag flew past him. He was in a much better mood, and was almost happy to see Cheshire again so soon. It didn't hit him so he just played it off as nothing, as his red eyes again locked on her face. "Oh, It's you Cheshire..." he said brushing off his pants a little bit. "..no I'm ok, but you should be more careful.."
It might have been the clarity of the water, or his talks with both girls or maybe something else because he was feeling OK now, as he smiled.
"Sorry about before.." he apologized, hoping she didn't notice he lied about going back to his room.

"Yes...I know, I'm sorry," she said a little darkly. The story of her life: be more careful. Just once she would love to be not so careful - a little wild a free, like she used to be. That didn't necessarily mean beating strangers with her book bag, but still. Sitting down across from Hein, Cheshire shoved her music in her bag and kicked it away. Glancing back, Cheshire was pleasantly surprised to see his smile. Things must have been going better for him, if he was no longer crying.
"Don't worry about it," she answered to his apology, a little more brightly, "I'm used to it." Plucking a piece of grass from the earth, she twirled it idly in her fingertips, a little lost on what to talk about. An awkward silence fell for a moment, which Cheshire fought to fill.
"So...er, what are you doing here at the beach?" She scrambled.

"Yeah, maybe if we talked to her she'd be less shy?" Drake said shrugging. "Wouldn't hurt, and who knows, we may make a friend." he smiled warmly.

OOC: not sure if there is a beach at this small lake but ok XD
Hein felt sort of bad, as it appeared that the girl must have had trouble in the past even if he was just guessing. He knew the feeling of being treated like crap because he was different, have eyes of hatred and the lies-- oh so many lies. "I'm looking at the water, it's so clean and left on it's own..." he replied, "Just wanted to see it, and breath in the air."
Turning to Cheshire, he stepped a bit closer.
"Earlier I wasn't feeling that great, I cried and you followed me.." he stated as he looked at her closely. "I don't know why you followed me, but Thank you. I fear that if you didn't snap me out of it, i might have done something aweful.."

((ooc: you cannot deny my logic))
Guilt swam through Cheshire as Hein gave her his thanks. How could she possibly tell him that the only reason she had followed him so that she could study his emotional unbalance? She had stayed so she could help, of course, but her original motivation had remained the same. And then there was her deep curiosity about his power. Apparently he had some deep dark secret, one that Cheshire was dying to know.
"I'm glad," she finally said, if a little shakily. It was a little strange to have a boy so close, "I mean, I'm glad I was able to help."
"Thank you, too," Cheshire said quickly a moment later, turning to gaze out over the water, "It's nice to have someone to talk to."

Raines suddenly stopped walking. He looked at his friend, very hard and very carefully. "Something wrong?," It might have become increasingly clear to an outside observer that Roger was either trying to be a jerk about Robert coming back; but that wasn't the case. "N-no, not uh, everything a-ok!" Robbie said shaking his head. He didn't think people would have cared that he was gone, but it still didn't make the size-shifter feel all that great to know that the person he was closest too (besides Theo and Nadya) hadn't even noticed he had left. "I just wanted to say hi..." Robbie said with fake enthusiasm, his "weak" smile returning.

"It sure is.." he said calmly, as the lake's waves. A pure expression on his face.
Stepping next to her slowly to catch the same view of gentle waves on the small lake, placing his hand on Cheshire's shoulder he kept looking in silence for a bit before breaking it. "This is your first day here isn't it, Have you been given the tour?" he asked kindly as he removed his hand from her shoulder as he finished talking, and gave a small glance her way.

Shiloh shook his head over and over again, trying to take in everything she said. He had no idea if he was the first student to approach her with similar powers, but Chloe certainly knew a lot more about their kind of powers than he expected. He wondered if she was this efficient and knowing about everything.
When she stopped speaking, Shiloh let the words sink in, trying to figure out how scents would help. Most of his powers were aggression-based, even if he did have a sense of smell. His heightened smelling senses mostly came in handy when he had gone hunting with his father since he was a boy.
Even to this day, Shiloh never forgot what it was like to kill his first deer on his own. He never forgot the adrenaline of stalking it for hours and finally getting that rewarding kill. His eyes grew big when he thought about his prior transformations. Whenever he woke up, he would be in the forest and a dead deer or some other animal he and father hunted would be near by, but he never went after his family or anyone he had known before the transformations started on his twelfth birthday.
"I think I understand. If I'm more familiar with the scents of things around me while I'm in control, it'll be easier for me to recognize friend from foe?" Shiloh asked. It may have been a small nugget to controlling his powers, but it made sense. A person he spent time with a lot, Kalina, walked away without a scratch despite his fury and inability to control his powers. It may have been utterly instinctual, but even animals could knew friend from foe. Perhaps with practice, he could too.
"But you said you still have urges too sometimes? How long have you been trying to gain control of your powers?" Shiloh thought about all of the journals again and gulped. He assumed Chloe must have been at it for years, taking in scents from France, America, and wherever she may have been. And she was certainly more disciplined than him when it came to honing these urges.
There was no way he could curb the insatiable hunger of his werewolf form before the next full moon. Shiloh knew that would take much more time, but it still frightened him, the idea of putting the student body at risk every month because he hadn't Chloe's sense to try to understand and deal with the powers.
Shiloh had spent his entire life trying to run away. And the beast finally caught him.
"I know, it seems too quiet at the school now. Almost like this was just the beginning or something. But I promised to keep you safe from anything that might come here, and I will, Kalina," Mark whispered, looking down.
The entire mood of the school scared him. Sure, there were loners and people with uncontrollable powers, but this feeling he had was completely different. The entire school was tense, almost waiting for more, waiting for more death, waiting for some threat from the shadows.
Mark sighed aloud. He might've sounded like some crazy paranoid theorist, but he knew something was coming. And he just hoped the school was ready.

((ooc: Cheshy's been hanging out as an NPC it's been decided. So she's not new. :3 ))
Cheshire's brain had temporarily been turned numb by Heins touch, so she didn't hear a word of what he had said. What was going on with the world? It was as if in one day she had been sent to a Wonderland of her own. A world where people actually talked to her and she had yet to fall flat on her face in front of a crowd.
"Er...no actually," Cheshire smiled apologetically, coming out of her reverie, "I've been going here for about a half a year now. I haven't really seen much of the place though..." She shrugged, "The library's my main domain. Nerdy, huh?"
It was a little surprising how easy this socializing thing was. Nothing in her teeth. Check. No glass nearby. Check. No visible bra lines. Check. Okay, so things were going good. She had even made a little jest at herself. She'd better be on the look out for flying pigs...

"The library, huh.." he said almost dully, as he didn't take long to recall that Yun was the same. Always in the library and in the end that is where she met her end. Coughing a tiny bit, he felt like he needed a swift slap. With a deep breath he kept his cool. "Well, that's not nerdy at all. Knowledge is power for people who have powers that can create like you.."
"My power is similar to yours, only I use my blood instead of glass. Some people call me a vampire.." he said as he again smiled, "I think you are the first person not to freak out when I used my power.."

Roger gave his friend a questioning stare. There was a reason why Robbie was acting weird, but Raines couldn't picking up on it. He sighed, giving the boy a rub on his hair and russeling his hair. The boy then walked away, but stopped suddenly.
"Oh, yeah, Robbie," Raines called to him, looking back.
"Welcome back." Roger did notice his friend's absence, he just didn't know what to say about it.
Elsewhere, Nadya was totally walking randomly around building one... where Robert was... and they might be able to meet and talk and stuff...

Cheshire heard the change in Hein's voice and stiffened. She had said something wrong, hadn't she? She watched him carefully out of the corner of her eye, looking for a signal of some sort. At last he spoke again, and she relaxed. Better yet, what he said made since. Blinking with wide eyes, she stared at him slightly, considering his words. Cheshire had never thought of it that way.
"Why would they call you a vampire? And why would I freak out?" Cheshire asked, confused, "You only mold blood. It's not like you actually drin - ...ooooh," she trailed off, it finally hitting her. Why he had insisted that he was dangerous, the strange comments about his power. Cheshire tilted her head thoughtfully.
"What an unusual method of restoration..." she murmured, partly to herself, then turned her ice blue eyes to Hein, sparkling with curiosity, "Do different blood types effect your limits? And what about animal blood, can you do different things with that? How does mutant blood vary with human blo-"
Again, Cheshire cut herself off, realizing she may be sounding insensitive. Raising her hand to cover her eyes briefly, she glanced at Hein.
"Sorry, you don't have to answer that."

Hein looked with surprise in his eyes, had anyone ever asked about his power before. Taking a step back, he walked a little ways from her while keeping a eye on her. "Now, that's something no one has ever asked, not even my own mother.." he replied, as a sense of joy went over him. Can he finally get people to listen to him, he would surely try.
"My own blood is different then a normal mutants blood, it can be molded and can be altered into many shapes. However, my body also craves blood like a beast.." he replied, "I must drink blood or I will die, the blood must be fresh meaning air can't get to it, if it does it will effect my body negatively.."
Sitting down on the sand he stretched out, as the waves just reached his feet. He didn't look at Cheshire meanwhile, it didn't seem like something he could say face to face about."The blood I drink ....heals my body and restores the blood that I can mold, it also keeps me one step closer to living normally. I'm not really sure how, but It does. It would also appear that only Human blood works.."
Stopping himself, he turned to see If Cheshire had ran away from him while he was talking...

Cheshire was glad that Hein felt comfertable enough to speak about his power. She was just glad to listen. As Hein spoke, Cheshire quietly rolled up her pants legs, then wading a little ways out into the water.
"So oxygen can't come in contact...then how do you recive your blood?" she asked, "Through blood banks or straight from the body?" A small part of Cheshire was disgusted with the thought of Hein sucking at some chicks neck. The large part, however, was fasinated. Kicking up some water, and enjoying the cool caress against her skin, she turned to face Hein.
"How long have you known about your powers? What was it like before you realized that drinking blood could help?" Cheshire questioned softly, thinking about her own discovery of her power.

"Now watch this," Oto said, still all giddy, "1....2....3!" Oto flipped himself back up onto his feet through his amazing flexibility, once again upright. "Tada!" Oto made a fancy little pose, congratulating himself for that fancy trick. "And come one, man," Oto said, gently elbowing DaMarcus in the ribs and sticking out his tongue, "It was just being friendly".DaMarcus immediately flinched, stepping back from the gentle physical contact. It wasn't that he was afraid, but he just didn't like being touched. Unless it was a fight. But his eyebrows lowered in frustration moreso than anger as he stared at Oto. Apparently people here were just very...touchy. "Enough with the touchin', chea?" he said, shaking his head. He had barely been able to enjoy the ice cream he had been given by Genji.
Another moment of silence as Winters thought. He then grabbed Phil by the shoulder, pulling him in for a tighter, more intimate conversation. This information was sensitive. "I got a call the other day, from Richard Drake. G.U.A.R.D. apparently was giving us a heads up that we were a target. And he warned me their sources said we were already becoming targets from others," Winters said in a hushed whisper. He took a moment. No students were around. "Send me what details you have: schematics, plots, protocols, whatever. I'll look over them with Smithe, and the two of you can work together to put up some...student-proof defense systems," Winters stated, before looking Phil in the eye, seeing his hesitation, "I know you and Smithe don't exactly get along, but it is time to put that behind you. You guys could do great work together."
Theo leaned back, feeling he was being sucked into something he didn't want. He didn't want to be under another woman's foot, especially one he didn't trust. But the devil on his shoulder told him to hear her out. "Like who?"

Raising his eyebrows, Phil was a bit surprised with Walt. He was a bit apprehensive with working with Hugh (who hopefully doesn't actually know of his old life), but he then thought of the possibilities. Giving a polite smirk to Walt, he told him... "Why, for the sake of scientific progress, we shall serve as your personal Oppenheimers as you shall be our General Groves. And don't worry, I can do some idiot-proofing, not that our kids are thick but you can never tell."

Hein smiled when he saw Cheshire head into the water, but he wasn't sure If she would let him near after hearing what he had to say. He wasn't the most normal mutant in the world, he was a vampire without the strength and speed of one-- made by his mutant gene as a child. Their was vague memories of his past, one such memory was him and his mother blowing out his birthday candles as a very young child, he was normal then. While his next memories were not as clear as that he recalled being in kindergarden when his powers first started to awaken.
...
"My past is hard to recall, but I had this power for a long time.." he explained snapping out of his thoughts of the past. "At first when I didn't drink blood, I became real sick and nearly died.."
Getting up he followed Cheshire into the water, but kept his distance. As he looked at her with much more sad eyes, he didn't mind that his clothes were wet. "They started giving me blood to keep me stable, but I just kept getting more sick. The doctors knew that my blood was different, no blood type matched me... I guess It was by accident, or maybe it was my power. The doctor cut himself on his arm and I..." as Hein spoke, it was as if he was reliving it as he dropped to his knees, soaking his entire body up to his neck. "After that, It became known that I was a freak, a mutant. I had to drink fresh blood from people to keep my strength, while other blood from vials just kept my stable enough to live normally.."
Oh god, he felt like crap. He was a monster with a human body, 'Why was I born this way, it would be easier if I just...' Hein thought as he gave a sad glance over to Cheshire.

Giving him the smallest of nods, Phil told him.. "I will."
He then returned to his office to work on some more of his ideas. With Hugh's ability, possibilities have just been expanded. Still, perhaps it's still best to make sure that he doesn't mention too much of his days as Sir Leviathan. God knows that name is still on a few Shit Lists here and there.

Cheshire listened sadly to Hein's story, her heart clenching with empathy. Did she ever know what it was like to have to walk down the halls, everyone whispering and snickering as you passed. It would have been even worst with young kids. At times, they can be the meanest. She watched Hein carefully, evaluating all his body language. This was rather difficult to do, considering at the moment she could just see his head. After his story, Cheshire sunk down as well, sumerging herself in water and floating across from him. Digging her toes in the sand, she realized that she should tell him her story. At the very least it might put him at ease.
"I didn't find out about my powers until I was 14," she said, blinking up into the blue sky, "I mean, things had been going on for awhile, but nothing I had picked up on. When I was nervous for a big test at school the windows would shake. If I tried to talk to a boy I liked, light bulbs would shatter. I had thought....well, I'd never imagine that I was the one doing those things," Cheshire took a deep breath. It had been a long time since she had unburied such memories, "I was a lot different there. I played soccer and was much more outgoing I guess you could say. But about a week after I turned 14...my father and I got in a fight. The windows...eye glasses...everything just...exploded. I nearly killed him," Cheshire's voice cracked, and she took a second to clear her throat.
Cheshire fell into a slightly stunned silence. She had never told anyone about her past, except for the teachers when she enrolled. And it had all slipped out, like she couldn't of held it in even if she wanted too.
"I think...I think this is where I was meant to be though," she choked out, glancing at Hein, her voice becoming a little softer, "You too. I like to believe everthing happens for a reason."
