Brief: Stylianos's team is sent to quell human violence incited by People Standing Against Loose Mutants, or PSALM, at a rally outside of Charlotte, NC. People have began rioting near areas or businesses that show signs of mutant employees or ownership, and the small mutant populace is scared. A well known neighborhood mutant family is holed up in their home, which some PSALM members appear to be interested in attacking.
After the jet landed and released its cargo, it took off, leaving the students on their own. They could hear some of the chaos. They weren't far, but they'd have to hoof it over to the problem. They could see some smoke rising from the few fires set to cars or businesses. It seemed things were getting out of hand, although only a handful of "activists" were doing most of the troublesome activity. Commotion seemed to be gathering at one house, which the team could barely make out from their location.
OOC: Just go on, I won't be around until tomorrow night, at which point I'll do any NPCing or whatnot that needs to be done. I trust you guys to make it interesting for yourselves.

Kalina gulped. She couldn't believe that she was responsible for the hostages. Weeks ago, her responsibility would have been smaller so why now? She put on regular clothes to hide her jumpsuit and waited for Chloe.

Chloe got off the jet, glancing over her shoulder at Stylianos for some sort of encouragement but was not surprised to find none. She instead focused on the commotion ahead, and racked her mind about what to do with Lycan. She should keep him close to her but sending Genji as Kalina's back up would be...stupid. Lillian could do it but they needed someone with her long rang ability to watch from the back. Every way she sliced it, it just didn't fit together.
"Um...um...merde!" She cursed, knowing that she was taking a risk. Where was Ace? He would have been perfect to serve as Kalina's back up. This was proving to be tricky, "...okay, Genji and Lycan, work to subdue to crowd, Lillian, stay reserve, Lillian, if Lycan starts to change you wisk him out of there with your powers. If they become surrounded, help them from a far with your wind. I don't want you discovered. Kalina...I'm coming with you,"
She bit her lip, knowing that she was taking a risk here, Genji was not smart at all and Lillian froze under pressure, hopefully Lycan would be able to add some sort of logic, "Lillian, if you guys need help, send up a tornado stress signal, okay"
Chloe hesitated and then as if to make up her mind, she unzipped her jump suit and peeled it off, revealing that she had on underarmor underneath. This was risky, this was really risky, but what else could she do?
"Let's go,"

Kalina breathed a sigh in relief. If spots was her back up then everything would work out. However the idea of what everyone would do outside was daunting since they'd have to take out their earpieces. She followed Chloe loyally towards the crowd.

Shiloh sighed a bit in relief, happy to be off guard duty. But he did feel a twinge of guilt. Spots must have had a huge strategy in the works, but his inability to provide any decent amount of support had likely ruined her plans. He took a step forward and heard the roar of the crowd. If he started to transform here, he could kill a lot of people and ruin the reputation of mutants forever.
"Calm down," Shiloh muttered to himself. He reached into his pocket and fingered the hilt of his silver knife. There were ways to stop his transformation, if necessary.

Kalina saw the crowd and immediately got intimidated. They were suppose to stop that?! She saw the house and could hear thoughts from the criminals, "they have guns". She gulped.

Shiloh stared around at the daunting crowd and wondered how he and this Genji kid were supposed to keep them from inciting violence--without their powers no less! When Kalina spoke up, he gulped, "We should refrain from using anything but passive powers for as long as we can," He mentioned to the group, trying to seem on top of things.

"Okay," Chloe replied, her voice came off uninterested to mask the cringe of her body as her heart jumped in her throat, "Kalina, keep a keen eye on their thoughts. I want you to listen to me also. I'm going to sneak through the back and mix in with the hostages. Once I am secure, you are to come in through the front...um...see if you can uh, borrow a police outfit, Genji?"
Chloe glanced over at the speedster, knowing if anyone could "borrow" police uniforms undetected it would be him.

Lillian unertsood and was acutally quite excited, though very nervous a the same time. Since she had phsycial traits that showed she was a mutant, she had to wear a bini on her head to cover up the wing like ears. Her regular wings were not a problem since she could make them disappear, thus she dressed like a normal person to blend in to the crowd. She began by keeping the page of a slow wind that was slowly growing. She had been practicing so much that she didnt need to move her arms or even more really for most things on this level. Not to mention her stamina had greatly increased and she could keep this sort of wind going for hours on end, maby a few days even if she had to. This way when she had to make any big gusts, people would assume it was just the wind picking up, rather than an actual attack.

Kalina waited for Blur to get the uniforms. When he got back, Kalina quickly changed. The outfit was too big but Kalina knew enough about clothes to make it work. She soon pulled her hair back and put on the bullet proof vest, "I look like a really negotiator" She laughed.

As soon as Kalina was dressed, Chloe darted in the other direction. She kept low to the ground, stealthily making her way around the back and careful not to be detected by even the crowd. The only way this would work is if they believed she was a hostage.
Leaping over the yard fence, Chloe sprang off a patio chair and climbed the pipelne of the modest two-story home until she found the small bathroom window. As she’d expected, the PSALM members had closed all of the windows, except the skinny bathroom window in the top right corner that no human could fit through.
Of course, Chloe was not an average human. She bent back her shoulder in such a way that she must have voluntarily dislocated it, and oozed her way in, cocking her head low and keeping her eyes closed in fear of scrapping them across a rim. She slid into the bathtub and lay there for a moment, trying to regroup herself.
She watched the shadows passing by the door and could hear the sobbing of a woman from downstairs. The PSALM men, however, were unusually quiet. She cocked her head back and sniffed: 4 musky men with artillery, an elderly couple, a baby, two kids and two adults. How could she convince them she was a part of the family, better yet, how could she convince them that she wasn’t a mutant?
Chloe resist the urge to sigh as she slowly rose to her feet in the bath tub. She couldn’t risk being caught right then, not in a black leotard and earpiece, so she stretched out and placed her foot on the rim of the toilet seat adjacent to the tub. Lunging forward, she scurried onto the sink and squatted down, carefully waiting for her chance to slip from the bathroom.
More steps, more murmuring, then the crack of the stairs as someone bounded down-her opening-Chloe opened the door and darted down the hallway, any sound she made masked under the noisy stairs. She reached a door with a faded jolly-roger sign on it and planted her shoulder into the wood, busting it open, jackpot.
From the torn posters, to its stench radiating from empty pizza boxes, it was obvious that she’d found the boy’s room. Without hesitating, Chloe went for his clothes, pulling out a pair of his faded jeans and a crumpled polo. She pulled them on before tearing through his room for a belt. Chloe quickly pulled her hair out of its proper bun and messily braided it in hopes of making it look like she’d been working.
Chloe smeared her lip-gloss with the back of her hand before checking herself in the dirty mirror and whispering into the earpiece:
"Blur, Lycan, Cherub, you guys are on your own,” She pulled the device out her ear and smashed it with her shoe just in time for her blatant rustling to change had attracted the attention Chloe had hoped for, and within moments, the door busted open and she was surrounded.
Chloe was shoved to her knees and she held up her hands in concede,
“Si vous plait, si vous plait monsier, I em jus tuh ‘ouse keeparr, no?” she cried, tactfully playing up her French accent if only to seem more clueless. The commotion was so chaotic that Chloe wasn’t quite sure what was happening. She did, however, feel the cool barrel of a gun pointed to the back of her neck before another jerked her up by her arm and shoved her down the stairs.
By the time Chloe was able to get her barring, she found herself in the midst of the hostage family, all of them way too wrapped up in their panicked fear to even comprehend Chloe’s presence amongst them.
'Okay Kalina, it’s time to move,'

Kalina had been listening to Chloe's thoughts and was on the move right when Spots gave the signal. Keeping her head down in the wind. The crowd applauded her thinking she was a police officer but most of them were Psalm supporters. She glanced at Lycan and Blur, wishing them luck before knockng on the door, "I'm the negotiator! Please let me in!!"
Ooc Delcage are you going to play the bad guys?

Shiloh gulped when he received the message from Spots, "No, please, come back!" He exclaimed worriedly, but it just made him look like a weirdo in the crowd. Luckily, they turned their attention back to the mutant rioting. Shiloh slid some of his hair over his earpiece and stared at the crowd.
"How can I do this?" He asked. Shiloh and Genji were just two people, how were they supposed to quell a crowd of this size and anger without getting killed?

"Mutants must go! Mutants must go!" chanted the crowd around Shiloh and Genji. Their fists were pumping in the air, their chanting unison and uniting for them. Little did they know of the mutants among them.
"Get outta our town!" yelled one of the member's of the crowd.
"We don't want you here!" echoed another, hands cupped over mouths to try and strengthen their sound's fortitude.
Most of the protesters didn't want the mutants dead. They wanted them scared. They wanted them to feel so terrified they'd move immediately, and never come back. They wanted to show these mutants who was really in charge and that they wouldn't take so kindly to their ways.
Meanwhile, the suits that had been speaking seem to have disappeared...
Inside the house, a commotion was stirring. The three of the men were yelling at each other, while the fourth tried to call them.
"I told you to check, you dummy, I can't believe you!"
"They said there was nobody else!"
"And you listened to them!?"
"We had guns to their heads!"
"That's my point!"
"Will you all SHUT UP!"
They all did, slowly but surely, with a few insulting words mumbled. Finally, the one who had quieted the others turned to Chloe. Then to the man on his knees across from her, presumably the father of the household.
"How come you didn't tell us you had a housekeeper, freak?" he yelled. The man blinked - upside down - and tried to formulate a response, but didn't have time as he not-so-gently gun butted in the back of the head. He gripped the air, bleeding, but conscious.
"You shouldn't lie to us! We're very serious people!" the human terrorist angrily shouted.
"I'm the negotiator! Please let me in!!"
"Shit, Percy, the negotiator is here!"
"Don't use my fuckin' name, dipshit!"
"Sorry, sorry! What should we do?"
The leader, now identified as Percy, casually approached the door. He seemed to feel very in control...or be faking that. "Negotiator?" he yelled through the door, trying to be heard over the crowd, "You here to negotiate these monsters into leaving our town and never coming back?"

Kalina bit her lip, trying to remember what Chloe said. She'd told her to use her powers to her advantage, so she read his thoughts. He had severe hatred for mutants but was a little freaked out, they were amateurs, all of them and she could hear doubtful thoughts from a few of them.
"Sir," Kalina spoke calmly and tried to sound as mature as possible, "My name is Lieutenant Vasquez," she glanced at her badge, "I'm here for your well being sir, please let me in,"

Percy bit his lip briefly inside of his ski mask. The negotiator could be some sort of trap. Could be some cop.
"Maybe we should let the negotiator in..." stated one of his accomplices.
"Dude, fuck no, we've got this!" intoned another. He eyed Chloe suspiciously, his grin obscured by the black cloth mask, but his eyes said everything.
"You're an idiot, we need some sort of plan, I didn't expect everything to get so cr-"
"You both are always causing problems, let me think!" Percy commanded. He seemed to not be as in control as he wanted. The chanting outside continued. There were sniffles from the children and the mother, while the father tried in vain to verbally comfort them as quietly as he could.
"What do you want? Our demands?" Percy yelled to "Lieutenant Vasquez". "Shit, we're gonna need some good demands, wonder how much we can get...we're gonna need immunity if we turn ourselves in..." he thought.

Kalina shifted her weight, trying to think of the best way of offering him what he wanted without actually doing it, "Sir, we're here for you, we do not wish to convict you, if that is what you're afraid of, I only want to talk, figure out what's best for all of us," She hopped that her words would be enough to satisfy his thoughts without backing herself into a corner. Behind her, the crowd got a little more rowdy and she forced herself not to look back at her teammates.

Percy took a moment before motioning to one of his accomplices, who came over. He issued a few commands. The next thing Kalina knew, the door had flung open and a hand was grabbing her neck and yanking her in. The door slammed shut and she found herself in the vestibule, a gun pointed in her direction and the leader looking at her expectantly through the slits in his mask.
"Let's talk."

"Please, people, calm down! The police can handle this situation without violence!" Shiloh yelled over the crowd, but was quickly drowned out. A few people pushed past him, knocking him to the ground to see the police officer enter.
Shiloh covered his face from the stampedes of everyone around him, but still got stepped on and kicked, "How am I supposed to do this?" He lamented, weakly crawling out of the mob to tend to his wounds and try something else.

Chloe had been careful not to make any sudden movements, keeping her arms wrapped around her knees and her eyes casted to the ground. Even when she felt their eyes on her, she kept her face sullen and blank to appear both frightened but also a little lost in translation. Even when Kalina finally made contact, Chloe didn't even flinch. She couldn't be so certain but one of the masked men seemed particularly interested in her but she wasn't worried, even if he acted on his instincts and scoured the house, he'd find no force of entry. He'd have no choice but to believe her.
Kalina so far was performing brilliantly. Though she was only a fourteen year old doe-eyed girl, Chloe had realized just from her talks with the young girl before that Kalina had more to offer than she let off.
"W-Who..." a voice broke into her thoughts and sent adrenaline rushing through her body. Chloe looked up to see the mother starting to gain some awareness. Lucky enough for Chloe, Kalina had hit the jackpot and sent the henchmen into a huddle frenzy. In fact, from what she could tell, these boys were a bunch of buffoons. They didn't seem to have any idea what the point of their take over was.
That was nothing to laugh at, for their nervousness made them jittery, and Chloe swore she could smell the sweat between their itching fingers as they shakily gripped the trigger. Any slip up and someone would be dead.
When the henchmen turned their backs, Chloe looked over at the mother and mouthed:
POL-ICE
Careful not to let her gesture be seen by their enemies. The mother looked confused at first but then the epiphany washed over her and she broke into sobs all over again. Her relief gripped the french girl's heart, this woman had tossed her faith right into Chloe's lap. This woman was hoping under false pretenses, she thought her savior was an experienced cop, not some high school mutant with no experience and a truckload of insecurities.
To Chloe's growing dismay, there was a crash from outside and more screaming. The rest of her team didn't seem to be controlling the crowd very well. It was only so long before they'd resort to using their powers, and that would send these guys into frenzy.
'Kalina, hurry!'

Kalina winced at the urgency of Chloe's thoughts, "we understand you only want to service your country. We're on your side. Hand the family over and we'll garuntee your safety. "

"Safety? Hand over?" Percy growled, clearly unsatisfied. He seemed insulted by Kalina, and let her know he wanted more, "Don't try to play us! We want immunity, to be pardoned! We want these mutants removed from our city limits, banned! We want...we want..."
He stuttered, trying to be grandiose, but he didn't have the intelligence to match his ambition. Was someone pulling this kid's strings?
"Money. And legislation!" he finally said, not even realizing that a police lieutenant could in no way guarantee such things.

Kalina blinked, this wasn't too well and she could hear the crwos starting to throw things. Who side were they on? "Percy, I know that losing a family member in a freak accident is painful but these are not the mutants who did it. We could find them together?". She was taking a risk saying his name but she was getting desparate.

Chloe perked up when she heard Kalina's comment, Percy seemed very trigger happy and it was definitely a risk. The shattering of a few bottles against the wooden planks didn't help either. What were those guys doing? They were suppose to be quelling the crowd, not letting them run amuck.
She smacked her head and knew at that moment that the plans had to change, but she wouldn't be able to calculate anything until the henchmen moved.

"WHAT DO YOU KNOW!?" Percy bellowed, clearly angry. He didn't become physical, yet, but two of his associates came over to him, to try and restrain him and calm him. Their words were inaudible, but their tone was clear.
"How do you know about that? And how do you know they won't do it someone else?" said one of people comforting Percy, trying to quell his fury at the remembrance of events past. Of mutants.
The one gun-toting participant in this situation remained with the family, but looked nervously, as if unsure if he should go with the others or remain. His gun shook as he moved it from family member to family member. He didn't like being alone, but he couldn't admit it.
