This thread will be used for the first team session for The Seraphims in CATT.
Will their new captain, Blaze, be able to lead them to a successful debut? Doubtful, but possible.

"Welcome to the Combat Abilities and Tactics Trainer, or CATT as we like to call her!" Firehawk's voice boomed over a microphone, even though there didn't appear to be any speakers in the metallic room, "CATT uses some the most advanced technology in the world, and is the most complex training system known to man. CATT sends radio signals to your brain to create the illusions of force, pain, vision, and all other things you would experience in the real world. We'll only be using the Virtual Training for now. Don't question the science kids. That's all the preparation you get. Follow your leader, and do your best."
The room seemed to fade away, blackening like a movie theater before showtime. However, they seen came up, and where once there had been walls, there were not. Where there had been a ceiling, there was blue sky. Where there had been silence, there was bustle, honking horns, and yelling.
They were in a cityscape, and it was crowded and messy. The people were making their way to and from god knows where.
Then suddenly, from one street came a shrieking and the crowd of people began to vacate as fast a they could. The other pedestrians looked panicked as they tried to figure out what exactly these people were running from.
Once quick look down the street told the whole story: skeletons. Walking skeletons, 12 of them, were marching down the street with little regard for what was in their path. Each was armed with a helm, a sword, and a shield, as if they were ancient warriors risen from the dead. They stood in a 4 by 3 rank and file formation, and it might be a little intimidating. There wasn't much time, as they were fast approaching.

Hein's eyed the walking skeletons closely taking note of there sword, shield, and helm combo. They were masses of bone that were attacking the people, pointing at them he was ready to say that living skeletons made no sense before remembering that he was a mutant that controlled blood. "I guess, we stop these skeletons as a test of our abilities. This must be a low level training, how interesting! I can now break loose and save these people!" he said ending his words with a faint smile.
He lifted his cut arm and drew some of it to his arm forming a long blood katana, it looked more awesome then his original blood katana as it's blade looked far sharper. The rest of his blood turned into droplets that floated behind him as he dashed in to help. "Zek, as a leader what would you do in this situation?" he asked as he pulled into a crowd of 5 skeletons and cut one and his shield in two.
"There weak, but.." Hein explained as the four skeletons attacks him at once forcing him to block all of them with his katana, sure he wasn't serious but this was training.

Zek looked at the situation and did his best to try and figure out a game plan. "Avery, your power and your control isn't best used in a place filled with civilians, you and Sora will do your best to save humans in danger and get them away from the skeletons. Sora, use your gymnastic crap to push and lead skeletons into large bunches. Hein.... Front lines. Fight them head to head while I'll be doing the same. Once everyone is safe we can fight them with the power of all four of us."
Zek in full flame mode kicked out the bottom of a stop sign separating it from the base and then lighting the metal poll on fire. He jumped into the air and flew up close to 100 feet before turning around and sky diving using gravity as his flames thrust to accelerate him. In the sky he looked for a skeleton that would be facing the other direction before labeling his target. Swooping down close to 200 MPH with a baseball swing to the head, Zek decapitated one fo the skeletons as he landed and turned around.
"We also need to find out what it takes to kill them, Are they imortal? does decapitation work?"

Sora gave a nod of understanding to Zek as he went into action. He ran in front of one of the skeletal warriors and waited for it to notice. As it swung it's sword, Sora sidestepped out of the way and covered his face as debris flew everywhere, the force of it's strike making a small crater in the pavement. Sora lifted his leg high and spun around for momentum as he brought his foot down into a kick right in it's elbow. It nearly shattered on impact.
"Looks like someone didn't drink their milk!" He said as he stepped onto it's arm and ran up, bicycle kicking it's head clean off. As Sora hit the ground though, the skull made a leap at him, and Sora let out a surprised scream as he caught it and threw it into a nearby wall, shattering it. The body had still been walking around too, but as soon as the skull shattered it collapsed into a heap of bones on the ground.
"Destroy the head!" Sora shouted, making sure his teammates knew their foes weakness as he continued with his crowd control.

"Thanks for the tip Sora, 3 down, 9 to go." Zek screamed back as he crushed the head on the ground of the skeleton he just decapitated. He screamed back at Sora barking more orders in his direction, "How are those civilians I asked about? They should take first priority. As glorious as you may look beating bad guys, the true hero is the one that saves people."

Hein jumped in to the air to evade the follow through of there swords, allowing the sword to fade in to blood again and shifted the red stuff plus the droplets around him in to blades of blood and tossed them down at the skeletons below. It wasn't as though any actual strategy would work on skeletons, but it appeared the head was the weak point(even if he had heard of headless skeletons before as well as skeletons that keep moving until every bone is broken but he chose to ignore that logic). "DIE!..." he said as the blades flew downward in such a way as to destroy the arms of the 4 skeletons below him. "...or you know what I mean"
Landing on a skeletons skull. He crushed it and flung his body weight to kick another skeleton without the aid of his blood destroying another skull, the crunching of bones hit the floor as well as the shifting splash of his own blood. "This is way too easy.." Hein remarked as he saw, a skeleton that escaped his blood blades heading for a civilian. Dashing through the skeletons, he reformed his blood katana and cut them in two as he ran. Taking out 2 more. Picking up the female civilian he brings her to safety. "Let's speed this up, everyone!"OOC: 6 down, 6 to go

"Speed is what I do!" Zek rocketed towards another skeleton and like a javelin he impaled the forehead of the monster and shoved the stop sign into a wall with the head on it. His fire grew hotter as the poll of the stop sign began to melt and deform, but along with the sign, the skeletons skull also melted like butter as the magma enveloping the fleshless head dripped to the ground. Zek torpedoed straight up again as he looked around at the remainder of the battle field. Most of the civilians were taken care of and evacuated from the area but he took a high position to view the whole battlefield to check for any other humans. "Woman and a baby!!! South part of the street!!!! In the car!!!" Blaze screamed at his teammates on the ground. If he had his staff he could have handled the situation, but the car was being attacked by skeletons and he couldn't get near the family in full flame mode. He still hasn't learn to control his fire while fully engulfed and not hurt people around him. OOC: 7 down, 5 to do

"I got em!" Sora called, picking up a sword from one of the defeated skeletons and charging, taking a leaping swing at one, embedding his sword into it's skull. He began to spin himself on the sword, kicking the others near him away as he leapt off, managing the strength to remove his sword from the skull at the same time. Sora found himself reflexively going into a downward stab, stabbing his sword into the roof of the car.
"Damnit!!" He shouted. Although his control was fairly good, it was hard for him to stop a motion he was imitating halfway through, causing him to sometimes do things he didn't mean too. He tried to use it to his advantage, since the car was a convertible, the roof was fairly easily cut through. After making a sizable hole, he reached in and managed to pull the woman and her baby out. By now the car was surrounded by skeletons though. Although Sora could easily jump on a few heads and make his way out, he couldn't leave the woman and child behind.
He blocked a few shots with his sword, keeping a close eye on any that might go for the humans instead.

OOC: 8 down, 4 around the car. I'm giving you guys the next post. Hein had very few ideas coming into his head at that moment as his red eyes read the situation carefully, there was 4 skeletons left surrounding a car, Sora his teammate fighting hard to prevent any casualties in their training. A women and her baby, that couldn't possible get away giving her handicap. "This is a bad situation, life hangs in the balance. Any loss of life would surely mean loss.." he remarked. Pulling his hair back he thought carefully and quickly, he had average control of his power and was aware that he couldn't use his full power without a margin of error. A simple rush would also prove impossible to pull off alone, he continued to think and finally came to a conclusion. Without further thought he jumped above the car while drawing his dagger and jammed that dagger in his other arm causing another bloody wound, he then removed the dagger hard spilling his blood all around. The blood expanded and fell on only the skeletons, through his control that only allowed that much. The skeletons getting completely covered by Hein's blood. He soon fell calmly and silently escorted Sora and the civilian's away from the car and the strangely still skeletons. "Gameover, next time come with your skin on.." he joked pulling his hand up causing the skeleton to float in the air due to the blood that he wrapped around them. "Care to do the finishing touches, Zek?"OOc: I set them up, knock them down... =P

Zek screamed his war cry at the top of his lungs flexing every muscle in his body and letting his fire reach its top heat. From already high above in the air he dove down and curved at the ground reaching top speed. Spreading his arms to the sides he shot past them to clothesline the remaining skeletons with his arms.
Blaze fully knock the heads off two of the skeletons shoulders that shattered as they hit building walls at high speeds and grabbed the other two skeleton heads by their eye sockets and ripped them off the bodies as he turned around and landed on the ground near his teammates. As his fire was turning off, all that was left of the skulls were puddles of magma that were dripping off of Zek's fingertips. His coat was shooting off a few blue sparks still, but other than that Zek had returned to normal and so had his voice.
"Mission accomplished?" He smiled an arrogant smirk before adding, "Team?"
Walking into this "danger room", Zek never expected such impressive team work, especially shortly after the team leader debacle. He was pleased to see that when things got serious, every member quickly became team players without arguing any commands Zek ordered. They all fought well together from the beginning until the end, and showed synergy especially with the assist at the end.

"Nice move, Zek. I could have handled it fine but this is training to build team dynamics, not solo fighting.." he explained, pulling his black hair back with a cocky expression.
The battle was over after a short while, though there powers didn't match up well they managed some kind of teamwork. At that moment Hein realized that he had to learn to control his powers better, as he was suited for helping people. He had often disregarded everyone during his abilities but with civillian's involved and other obstruction it grew difficult.
"It's over.. not too hard but I had to inflict another wound on myself due to my lack of control for my powers. I will have to work on that."

"You can have the final shot next round, I'll try to set you up." Dusting the debris off his coat, Zek was a bit let down that there were holes in it from the fire. He was a saddened about it because he had just gotten a new one, but raising his temperature as high as he did, even fireproof material was no match for his ability.
"Alright big boss, How do we get out of here?" Zek screamed into the empty air hoping that somewhere Firehawk was listening and watching.

Returning from warding off groups of skeletons from civilians using a combination of Acid and head-punching, Avery staggers towards her team, tired from all the running and removing of skulls as well as her own limited stamina. Panting, she remarks... "I think... I'm more used... To reading..."

"Very well done, team!" celebrated a triumphant sounding Firehawk over the speakers. The room went black once more, and they were back to their original room, as boring as placid as ever. Any wounds or tears of clothing inflicted were gone, their illusions removed with the complex computer controls.
"I'd love to talk to you guys about what went well and what needs work, but I'll leave that to you and your leader. You guys can head out and up the elevator and you're free to go for the night."

"That's great.. I can finally get out of here.."
Hein took note of the events as well as checked to see that his self inflicted wounds were gone, does techonology of that level realisticly exist. Shaking his head he walked out, now that the training was over he wanted zero to do with the group he was part of. As much as he didn't want to look bad, he still didn't care all that much about about teamwork.
Many things were learned in the training about his powers, his body and himself. The bloody mutant figured that that was what the training was all about, but also figuring in team dynamics which he didn't care for. "Let's not do this too often.." he noted quietly as he started out his red eyes were focused on what he had to do, learn to control his power better. As if he needed training to figure that out.
Leaving in the elevator alone, he heads back...

" Yea yea yea, good work team." Zek grabbed his coat and was more than happy to see it in good condition. He sighed of relief as he dismissed his group. "Alright Everyone, Get out of my site and take a group vacation on campus away from this team building stuff. I'm going back to reading and sleeping."
With that, Zek shoved the door open and exited the CATT. He slapped his cheeks up a few times when he was out of sight and kept walking. Mental fatigue had almost over come him in the exercise and all he wanted to do was sleep.
