This is for Stylianos's team, Session 1 of training.
Chloe has won leadership of her team, but her problems with perhaps their heaviest hitter, Ace, could make accomplishing anything a challenge. Still, others seemed to have pegged this team as the team to beat.
p.s. Genji is sick, and can't participate until otherwise specified.

"This is the Combat Abilities thingamajig...you know, look, the computer is gonna make some shit that tries to kill you. It'll feel real, but it ain't. Don't fuck up, pups," explained Stylianos's apathetic voice over the microphone.
The room went black, the silver reflective surface of the walls melting away. However, when vision returned, it was no longer the same room, but rather a beach. The thick sand beneath the students was dry, but it wasn't far from the lapping waves and wet sand of the recent high tide. The sun was bright and fiery as it launched an assault of rays at them. A small grouping of trees was about 30 yards away from the water.
However, just down the beach landed a ship. And what better than to get off ships than a bunch of irate pirates. Armed with swords, clubs, and two with ancient pistols, they numbered 7 in entirety, and didn't seem to take kindly to the presence of the mutant scum.

Chloe quietly followed the Spartan to the Control Room but couldn’t help but look around in awe, what type of place was this? She glanced over her shoulder at her teammates and then back to their Psycho…er…fearless leader, the Spartan.
What in the world were they suppose to be doing now? Was this guy going to even explain? Chloe folded her arms and began to study her fingernails as if she was bored, but actually her mind was racing: team captain.
Team Captain of a squad that she didn’t even want to be apart…and Ace knew that! She slyly cut her eyes over at Ace; he could have easily held that against her, he still could. At the realization, she could have kicked herself for running her mouth to him the other day, like a silly little goose. As if she was Jennifer! She’d known better! One thing both her parents had taught her was the sanctity of a still mouth. She silently cursed at herself for being so stupid before once again quietly assessing her partner’s powers. If she were going to secure her captain’s spot, she’d need to make another plan, and make it quickly.
Lillian slipped in, standing next to Kalina, who out of all of them seemed the most approachable. In addition, Kalina seemed quite comfortable with herself without the obnoxiousness, which Lillian found refreshing,
“Read his thoughts yet?” Lillian whispered, very curious to what was being planned.
Before Kalina could respond, they heard the Spartan’s voice and the team soon found themselves on a beach. Lillian leaned a little closer to Kalina and meekly scanned the illusion before her gaze fell on Chloe’s back. Chloe hadn’t reacted in the least to being elected Captain; in fact, Lillian was starting to think that the girl had expected it. During the process, Chloe hadn’t even voted; she had just…watched herself get put in the position. Lillian frowned a little, the last thing they needed was an arrogant leader, in fact, she slightly hoped that they’d lose this activity and knock Chloe down a peg or ten…for the good of team!
Chloe felt a pair of eyes burning in her back and quickly turned around to see Lillian seemingly scowling at her. She narrowed her eyes on the girl and asked,
“Problem?” her voice was as cold as ice.
“…No,” Lillian carefully replied before turning her gaze back on Kalina.
Chloe watched her a little longer before once again facing front. Already that one had doubts…Chloe could see it all over her face. She shrugged her shoulders and pushed thoughts about her fickle teammates out of her head. Despite not seeing any of the other teams, Chloe was positive that she was the only girl leading a squad, which meant everyone would gun for them, expecting her to crack under pressure. She was also milling around the idea that she wouldn’t be able to control her team. The girls, yes, but Genji and Ace? Well maybe Genji, but Ace?!?! She groaned under her breath and touched her forehead. There was the chance of an inner division, especially if she didn’t prove right now that she belonged in this role…if she even did.
Right then, the group was confronted by the ship of angry pirates (OMG! One piece!) and Chloe’s heart skipped a beat. Was she supposed to order her team to fight? Were they supposed to kill the pirates? But wasn’t it against mutant code to kill humans? So maybe this was self-defense? Maybe they were supposed to detain them? Why hadn’t the Spartan given them more information?!
Okay, okay, okay…think Chloe, think. How do you position these guys?
Chloe mulled over their powers again. Genji was sick, so their offense was crippled. Lillian’s wind would serve as great cover. Chloe would definitely have to be offensive and Ace would have to replace Genji. But what to do with Kalina…Chloe sighed and put her hands on her hips, Kalina's power was handy but that girl was hardly athletic. Kalina did seem smart as a whip, though...

Kalina's eyes widened and she looked at Chloe. She was pretty useless right now, "Uh, Chloe??? Any ideas?" She then began to back away, she'd be no help here unless she could get a twig or something. Her abilities could only be used to find out what they wanted, but none of them seemed to want anything more than their blood.

When Kalina called her name, Chloe flinched and suddenly launched into action, she turned and quickly strutted down the middle of her team, “Okay! Look, Pirates are to be driven back onto their ship. We don’t kill humans unless a last resort,”
Lillian snorted, causing Chloe to shoot her a look. Lillian raised her eyes and timidly shrugged, “I’m just saying, it would be easier to kill them. How are we suppose to drive the Holograms back onto their ship?”
Chloe furrowed her brow before turning towards Lillian, “Creativity,”
Lillian had no comeback, and instead glanced down at the sand though she still had no idea what Chloe was planning.
“I want a 1-2-1 zone,” Chloe called out but didn’t wait for anyone to figure it out. She quickly jerked Lillian to the front, pushed Ace next Lillian and then signaled Kalina to be behind them.
“Kalina, you’re our eyes and ears!” Chloe yelled over the growing roars of the crowd, “If any of us are to be blind swiped, tell us…somehow,” Chloe whispered before Lillian frantically called her name again. Chloe looked up to see the pirates upon her, one of them thrust forward with his blade. Chloe ducked down and thrust forward into his gut, pushing up and flipping over her shoulder.
“Lillian, knock them back as far as you can, now!” Chloe grunted as she snatched the sword from the pirate’s hands. It seemed real enough, which kind of made her wonder what type of simulation they were in, exactly. Chloe tossed the sword back to Kalina and yelled at Lillian,
“NOW!”
Lillian frantically flailed her hands and the sand whipped up as she created a blast of wind, jettisoning the pirates back, remembering to pick up the lone pirate in the middle of the group with a separate current and blast him back.

Kalina was amazed at how at ease Chloe seemed. She didn't even look scared. Kalina held the sword and pointed as a few more pirates came out the water wielding swords, "um, guys!" she cried, trying to hold her sword upright as they were attacked. Kalina clumsily wielded the sword but despite her efforts, fell to the ground. She tripped the pirate and scrambled back.

When Chloe saw the sand’s reaction to Lillian’s powers, a strategy hit her but before she could relay it to their team, the Pirates countering them from the ocean deferred them. Chloe, who was better at evading than full on offensive attacks, struggled to keep up, and came out of the skirmish with a slice through the back of her shirt. Chloe cursed and tied the split pieces together when the distinct smell of gunpowder burned her nostrils. Chloe looked up to see that the pirates had pulled cannons onto the shore while they’d been distracted. Five cannons, to be exact, rolled down the plank and lined in a row. The rest of the pirates were charging again, but Chloe had absolutely no interest in being blown up, screw the detainment thing.
She glanced over at Ace and coldly pointed to his sunglasses on the top of his head before tapping her own cheek to signal him to put them on. She then looked over at Lillian, who already looked tired.
“How long can use your wind to keep up a sandstorm?” Chloe asked.
“Uuuh…maybe seven minutes,” Lillian stammered, slowly getting to her knees and planting her hands in the sand.
“Okay, Lillian, direct a sandstorm at the pirates, your goal is to hinder their site and mobility. If any of them make it out of the storm, then Kalina,” Chloe nodded at the sword she’d given the girl, “You protect Lillian and yourself the best you can. If you see anything, let us know,” She then looked at Ace, “You and I are going in and taking out those cannons,”
Chloe then ripped the bottom of her shirt and tied the piece around her face like a blindfold. She’d never tried to fight blindfolded before but considering her heightened sense or smell and increasing sensitivity to sound, now seemed like the best time to try it.

Kalina nodded and took a stance by lilian. She felt jealous as she watched Chloe and Ace get ready to go. They were both confident and despite the fact they were fighting, Kalina couldn't help but wonder if they were dating or ever had. She held up her sword and nodded to Lilian. "I will protect you,"

oOc: DINA DAMN IT, come play your character!
When the two seniors looked ready, Lillian created a current in the sand, it rolled straight at the pirates and took flight, waves of sand engulfing them in a compacted but thick sandstorm.
Chloe’s ears perked and she charged for the rush of wind. When she entered the storm, she was immediately scalded by the ripping sand, which felt as if it were shaving off her skin little by little. She heard one pirate choking and quickly moved towards it, flipping over his back and landing a kick right in his skull. She dropped to all fours and continued forward, already starting to doubt her abilities with her sight. She kept her head down, trying not to choke on the whirling sand but it was hardly working. She fell on her knees and pulled off her tee shirt-happy she’d worn a tank top under it-and wrapped it around her nose and mouth. She then heard the shiing of a blade cutting through the sand and quickly flipped back.
The pirate grunted and took a step forward, trying to bring the blade down on her but Chloe rolled to the side, picking up the dagger that her other attacker had dropped and ripped it across his side. The Pirate yelled aggregately and used the butt of his sword to crack her in her head. Chloe cursed and flipped back, hitting the sand on all fours a few feet away from him. Her ears itched again and she heard the clanking of the cannons. There were five pirates by them, bickering in panic from the sandstorm. Chloe reached out and felt the iron muzzle of one cannon, she followed it, stealthily creeping up its side.
Kalina! Chloe thought, practically yelling the words in her head in hopes that her psychic partner would pick it up, Tell Lillian to stop the storm! Tell Lillian to stop the storm!

Kalina shakily held the blade but no pirates came out of the storm, which put her at ease until she felt this weird feeling and picked up on Chloe's thoughts.
"Oh my god!" Kalina suddenly cried, "C-Chloe s-said t-to let the sandstorm die!"
That meant that pirates would get to them and they'd have no choice to fight. She held up her blade again, this time trying hold in her sobs, this was scary.

Ace took his time through the sand storm, his hands down by his side, a small ice like aura around them. He looked side to side, carefully stepping over the soft sand, making as little of sound as possible. The one thing that hockey helped him was, was instinct. You never could see where the next hit was coming so you had to train your brain to think what your opponent was. One blade came sliding across his face, Ace quickly jumping to the side; shooting an ice spear through the chest of the pirate.
The pirate had been running to fast, even though this was sand the faster you ran the more sand you kicked up. The more sand you kicked up the more sand that got caught in your shoes and the heavier they got. The heavier they got, the slower and louder they were.
"Ahh I think this is long enough being blind." Ace stated, knowing his leader would hear him.

Lillian nodded and pulled her hands from the dirt, leaning back on her knees as she tried to catch her breath. It took a few moments for the swirling sand to settle. Chloe ripped off her blind fold and swung onto the first cannon. She quickly hopped up and locked her thighs around the first pirate's neck, twisting around and using her momentum to yank him to the ground.
The second pirate cocked his revolver and aimed for her chest but Chloe slipped through his legs to attack him from behind. The Pirate, proving to be quick, jabbed his elbow back and managed to catch her on her jaw, knocking her back onto the second cannon. She rolled over it and flipped onto her fours before sprinting out of the line of fire. She hid behind a palm tree and waited for the gunshots to stop before picking up a coconut and nailing the second pirate right in his forehead. He spun around and fell to his knees, accidentally cracking his head on the butt of the Cannon.
Three pirates left

Ace made his way to where Chloe was, watching her take out the few pirates. He took his sun glasses off, finally able to see where they all were. Two were right before him with shit eating grin on their faces, their blades in their left hand their guns in their right. The young warrior waved his hand, a sheet of ice shooting out all below them, forming a mini ice rink.
The right pirate with the red bandanna charged forward but didn't make it far before he slipped face first onto the ground.

When the sandstorm came down, Kalina breathed a sigh of relief when she saw of the unconscious and frozen pirates. Ace and Chloe had taken out most of them and were now distracting the ones who were suppose to be firing the cannons. One pirate looked around confused and started to charge at Kalina and Lillian. Kalina in panic began to wildly swing her blade and scream at the top of her lungs. The pirate, thinking that she was shit insane, turned around and ran back to the ship, not even bothering to help his partners fight the cat lady and ice boy.
"Yay!!!!" Kalina jumped up and down happy. She'd actually done something badass kinda.

“Two left,” Chloe commented when she heard the sickening splatter on the ice from Ace’s victim. She remained still as Ace joined her behind the palm tree, both patiently shielding themselves from the panicked spray of bullets. She could tell that the pirates were on their heels and it would only take one or two more decisions to end this mission effectively. She called over her shoulder to Ace,
“Freeze the cannons over,”
Her stomach lurched in excitement. If Ace cooperated, then the pirates would lose their upper hand. Chloe was quite sure that without the reassurance of five cannons, their adversaries would either make a amateur mistake that she could capitalize on or would cower and retreat to their ship. Either case was a win for them and with victory so close; Chloe was already starting to swell with pride.

Ace nodded in agreement and froze the floor beneath them along with the cannons. Chloe was agile enough she could move on the ice and he had been on ice since he could walk and would have no problem maneuvering; it was the pirates that were in trouble.

The two pirates watched with bewildered eyes as the beach froze over. They stared at each other and immediately took off for the ship, comically slipping and sliding all the way there. They caught hold of the mooring line and anchor as the ship set sail, leaving the Strongmen to celebrate.
“Yes, mission accomplished,” Chloe cheered under her breath and stood up. She strutted out from behind the palm tree, waving at Lillian who was happily dancing around Kalina when suddenly there was a loud bang.
Chloe stopped short and choked up. There was a hissing sound and the smell of burning flesh. She slowly looked down to see a hole blown right through her midsection.
W-What…?
Slowly touching the bloody wound, she weakly looked behind her to see that they hadn’t accounted for one Pirate, who must have quietly hid in the bushes until he had a chance to attack. He grinned in triumph, his smoking revolver still aimed at her chest while the other one was pointed straight at Ace.
It was the last thing Chloe saw as her eyes rolled into the back of her head and she crumpled to the ground with nothing but her own heartbeat pounding in her ears.
By the time she’d hit the floor, the Danger room had reverted back into an empty, stainless steel cube and a voice blared into the speaker system:
Mission. Failed. Mission. Failed.
Chloe’s eyes popped open with a gasp and she quickly checked her stomach. To her confusion, her shirt was bloody but there was no wound to match, not even surface.
A hole may as well been present, for sinking pit in her stomach had grown immensely. She’d failed her first mission, by a dumb amateur mistake at that. How could she have failed? What would they think of her now? What would they say? How could she have been so stupid?!
Chloe welled up, grabbing her hair in frustration and let loose a screech of anger followed by a lot of cursing not only French but also her mother’s native language: Amharic.
