His eyes, which have been turned bleach white, allowed him to see the darkness, but also makes the sun extremely fatal to him. In addition, his darkness can short out light sources. He becomes nearly invisible in a pitch black environment.
Description: 
Biography: Yami Teru, despite his Japanese sounding name, was found in rural Germany as an infant. A German couple adopted him as their own child. At the young age of five, his eyes turned bleach white and became incredibly weak in the sun. His parents feared for their son's safety and decided to keep him near their small German town where Yami was well liked despite his status as a mutant.
Yami continued to live, but the more he found out about mutants, the more he became self conscious and eventually angry and bitter with people's opinions of mutants. He became very reclusive and sought to further his skills as a mutant. His desires led him to Berlin, where he found out about New Haven.
While at New Haven Academy, Yami met many other mutants, including Sheol who he started a relationship with after a rocky start that brought out his human side. Upon graduating, he became an unofficial member of the New Haven faculty where his job is ferrying mutants in Europe and India to safe zones in the US and various other countries. Yami is supposed to have a teaching role at the Academy, one that he frequently ignores in pursuit of various missions that has left him at odds with some of the NHA faculty.
Also, Yami has a thick German accent and speaks fluent German. In order to get out of many conversations, he'll just pretend not to know English until people go away.

Description: 
Biography: Diana is the middle child of a rich family from India. She comes from a family where women psychics are quite prominent. However, Diana also developed telekinesis, which was never seen before in her family. She was sent to New Haven Academy where she spent the bulk of her time partying until she met a very stern student named Yami during her sophomore year after he was assigned to tutor her. After a rough start they began dating and continued after high school. Diana and Yami stayed in America while she went to College and he joined the Core. Diana often got called back to New Haven Academy to help out the core but also as an advisor to keep her unconventional boyfriend under control. Diana also would often hurry to New Haven Academy to teach Yami's classes since he spent the majority of his time on the battlefield.
Eventually, Yami got into a fight with the few teachers and decided that the Core was too hindering. He convinced Diana to move back overseas where he felt their powers would be better served. Though they still belong to the Core, Deathshadow and Sheol are a lot more aggressive in their handiwork and Yami's fearsome powers makes him the center of controversy. Diana (known as Sheol) is a very sweet and beautiful woman who has stayed close to all of the teachers at the Core. She currently is secretly speaking to some of her friends at NHA about filling Yami's abandoned post fulltime. Despite Diana's usefulness to the Core and her great teaching ability, she will not come on full time since it could cost her her relationship with Yami.

Biography: Jet grew up in the New Haven Academy and loved it so much he tried to become a teacher but unfortunately he was to young when he tried to join (18) so they did what they do with all new possible teachers. They made him the person that goes around the world to tell mutants about the school and have him gain more experience with kids. He's the youngest "teacher" at the academy. Four years later his dream hasn't changed and he tries his hardest to get his shot at being a teacher.
He's known around the school for being laid back. Not as in lazy or not giving a shit (that couldn't be more wrong) but just laid back compared to the rest of the professors.

Biography: Henry Williams is a kind toy maker that grew up in England in the shadows of others. He was born with his physical deformities and because of that he stayed home instead of going to school. His family was frightened to the point they locked him in the cellar his whole childhood and would just put food at the top of the stairs.
While Henry was down their he found a variety of broken toys and would fix them along with other things such as old broken AC units and the like. It was through those that he learned the love of mechanics, the ability to fix things (the one thing he wished he could do to himself).
At the age of sixteen he ran away from home and was picked up by the circus. He became an attraction and even though it was hard on him it was steady income. It was because of the circus though he found his power. When one of the performers fell and broke their leg he ran over to help them and upon touch their broken leg fixed.
He can only use that power as much as his body can take the after effects. In return of fixing someone else up he gets what they had. Because of that he can not fix cancer or someone dieing because in return he would die. It is only such things as broken bones and scrapes and such.
At the age of twenty one he finally had enough money to buy a toy store where he fixes toys and sells them. He is often ridiculed and beaten from "normal" people. It was at this toy store that Chaz met the kind man. It was through Henry's help that Chaz is able to control his power as he can now.
