Hein jumped up but wasn't fast enough to evade with just that, as the blood block he had used before quickly returned to under his foot allowing him to jump again. His new trick, can be used to jump off of and on to for moments at a time, all and all it wasn't solid enough to handle pressure over time. "Damn, why are they attacking me when I'm inactive!!" he said breaking the 3rd wall.

The water shooting cannon whirled around, turretting its water cannon to fire a jet at Hein. The water sprayed out with enough force to knock the teen backwards, just as it done Lynx. Meanwhile, the other machine's cylinder began to glow blue before firing out a compact whirlwind of frigid air. Avery's acid was shoved to the ground, little ice crystals burning off it as it melted through the snow and left a small hole. The cylinder turned menacingly towards the masked antihero. This guy had better be pretty frickin' important for all of this, Avery thought. This was turning out to be riskier than she thought. She does have to admit that he does make a bitchin' Security-Oh, so that's it. Well, she thought, let's finish this. She thought about doing some dramatic pose at this point, but that just leaves you open. She instead decided that since Acid straight up wasn't going to work perfectly, she let out a stream while strafing, trying to close in to at least work Wrench Magic on the thing.

Lynx ran to a broken branch that she had hit on her desent. 'It's not very strong but hopefully it will help.' Lynx turned to her team at started to go towards one machine from the back.
She would fly but her wings would be useless after what she just did and also the threat is oin the ground not in the air.

The three paths of Bloody Rose, White Rabbit, and Typhus mixed and confused the machines, and in their efforts to destroy them, the accidentally shot each other. As each machine stopped functioning, the engines quieting and the cylinders remaining still, it became apparent that not everything was in working order here.
The entire group paused, wondering if it was over. As the mountain stood silent, they continued on to where the man had earlier disappeared. However, White Rabbit heard a click as they approached the mound. Then there was a sudden buzzing sound, and the sound of something...moving....
The ground gave way beneath the three teens, and they slid down a metal shoot with a mound of snow. It became pitch black, although they could hear the trap down closing. As they finally approached light, they came flying out, their falls somewhat padded by the snow. They were in a room, with its surface entirely black, save one entirely clear...like a cage.

White Rabbit started at the sound but before she could do anything she had lost her staff and had fallen into the cage like room.
'What the?' Lynx looked around and started to walk the perimeter. The room was circular and about 10 to 20 feet wide. The air was cold and chilled her to the bone
"Wwhere are we?" She asked shaking. She sat down again and started to clean and preen her wings as she wraped them around her.

Hein was getting frustrated at this point, looking at Lynx, he was tempted to try to answer but even he didn't have a clue. "Now I'm starting to seriously get angry, this mission makes no sense... hell, did we even need to split up in groups. It would be more effective to do everything together" he rambled on about, eager to finish up and go home.

A man appeared on the other side of the glass, a silver and unusual looking gun in his left hand. He eyed them cautiously, pacing in front of the clear surface, his eyes not leaving his captives. "Who are you?" he finally asked, his voice rough.

"Well not everyone could do it. They had their own missions to worry about!' Lynx stated. 'Why don't they get it?'
Her thoughts turned to Jin and his friends. She wondered how they were doing. Obviously he hadn't died yet because her necklace and rose were still there.
Lynx pulled herself out of her thoughts as she watched the man with the gun approach them. She gathered her wings around her tightly and stared at him with a piecing look but not enough to make him think that she was a threat.
Lynx tried to answer but she could find her voice. She looked at the others for help.

Raising her hands, Avery slowly approached the man and told him... "Um... We're... Ambassadors/Diplomats from New Haven Academy. We were sent here to find the Smithes. We're actually here on friendly terms from the Charles and... We're really tired of playing The Most Dangerous Game."

Lynx smiled at the man. 'I wonder if he's Mr. Smithe? I doubt that they have anyone else here so it must be him.'
Lynx relaxed her wings and sat up straight as she ruffled her wings into a more comfortable position. "We don't mean any harm." She said. "We just want to talk."

Trying to make a peaceful gesture, Avery thought of only one thing...
Raising her arms, she made the peace symbol with both of them while giving a worried expression.

The man eyed each of them suspiciously, and he appeared to mumbling to himself his judgments of them. He continued his pacing. He paused in front of Avery, looking at her. Her mask was less than comforting. He moved on to Hein, who's dark features were offputting. He came to a rest in front of Lynx. She was nervous. Perhaps that was at least genuine.
"You say you're friends with the Charles, eh? How exactly is ol' Harold Charles doing?" he asked, keeping a tight eye on all three, wondering who would answer.

'This isn't going so well.' Lynx thought. 'Act more calm and peaceful. We haven't done anything wrong.' Lynx put on a slight smile and looked at the man.

Remembering something, Avery then thought of something. Preferring not to share it with the others just yet, she mentions... "Um... I think you mean Xander or Viera."

Lynx looked expectantly at the man. His reply didn't come though. She let her gaze wander over her team mates. Lynx realized that they hadn't even talked about their past to one another. She didn't know anything about them except for what she had seen when they had fought and the brief conversation during and in between.
Lynx turned her attentions to the man again. He seemed like he could be a really friendly person but a bitter enemy. As she continued to look at the man her thoughts drifted else where as if on their own.
Lynx thought of Jin and wondered what had happened to him. The gifts he'd given her were still what they became but they seemed warm and alive. This alarmed her some what but it also made her feel comforted that maybe Jin was thinking of her too.

"A smart one. Did you homework did you? Well, how about th-" "Oh Hugh!" came an exasperated and annoyed feminine tone. She rushed in, swatting at the man angrily like he was some sort of insect, and he raised his hands in defense, "They are just children, you old fool! Leave them be, they were just sent here to talk to us! I swear!" As she scolded him, he tried to get out defenses and excuses, pointing to the captives, but each time his mouth opened her open palm smacked against his biceps or shoulders. "Let them out this instant!" she commanded, hands on her hips, face stern. It was obvious who was in control here.

Lynx was startled by the womans appearance but immediately like her and understood both of their personalities. Lynx almost laughed at Mr. Smithe's reaction but kept it under control. Lynx stood up and smiled at the Mrs. Smithe.

Minerva Smithe returned Lynx's smile, and took the opportunity to introduce herself.
"I'm Minerva Smithe, and this paranoid buffoon is my husband, Hugh," she told the trio, shooting her husband a dagger-glance that forced a begrudging nod from him, accompanied by a manly grunt of his own. She turned back a gentle gaze to the teenagers.
"Is anybody hurt? Why don't you all come out-" and at this she paused, tapping her foot as her husband sighed and made his way over to a control panel, and tapping some buttons before the glass panel raised, at which point she continued, "-come out and I can fix you up and you can tell us what this is all about."

Lynx walked over to Mrs. Smithe and stole a smile to Mr. Smithe. "Hello I'm Lynx Silvertounge and these are my friends Avery and Hein. We're sorry to bother you. Thanks for offering to helps us though." Lynx said warmly.
'We have to gain their trust and we can do that by acting defensive and closed.' Lynx told herself. she continued to follow after Mrs. Smithe wondering what the rest of their home looked like. 'I must be nice.'
The thought of home brought a sudden wave of emotion over Lynx and she almost shed tears. She never truly had a home or people who loved her. She was something feared and wondered about and never felt right there. But her parents wouldn't let her out of the house. Lynx became the nuisance that they couldn't get rid of.
Lynx took a deep breath and found control again.

"Hello Lynx, Avery, Hein," she greeted them in a sugary tone, motioning for them to follow her through the door of this room and across the hallway into another. The construction of this hallway was startlingly similar to the downstairs area of NHA, where CATT and other Core related rooms were. The same metal muted tones coated the walls and floor, the feeling of being lost in a huge hallway of standardized rooms still hanging over.
Mrs. Smithe guided the three into her lab, which was gigantic. Near to the door, however, were beds and tons of hospital equipment, some of it put together from various metals that gave it a slightly patchwork appearance.
"If you're hurt, just lay down on one of these tables. You all seem to be in working order, so this should be very quick. Now who wants to tell me why you're here?" she said, turning away from them and putting on a pair of thin latex gloves. She began tapping away on a computer. Meanwhile, a still grumpy Mr. Smithe leaned in the doorway, puffing a cigarette and watching the kids, still somewhat unsure of them.

Lynx strted to gag on the cigarett smoke. She tried not ot cough but it didn't work. She was overcome wit hthem and had to sit down. "Would you...look at my...wings...please?" She asked between coughs. "I landed...on them...pretty hard."

"Of course, of course!" Minerva told her with a laugh, indicating that she thought her question was silly and unnecessary. She began pressing her hands on various parts of Lynx, feeling for irregularities, positioning the girl's body as she deemed fit. It was brisk and business-like. Eventually, she was running her hands over Lynx's wings.
"I see," she murmured. She placed a hand on each side of Lynx's left wing, and her hands turned completely white, the color of paper. Lynx began to feel a tingling as her wings began to heal.
"Is this why you came all this way?" she asked jokingly. Hugh rolled his eyes in the doorway and took another puff. What was wrong with her?

Lynx had a chill run down her spine as her wings were healed. 'She is very powerful. They both are' Lynx thought. She chuckeld at Mrs. Smithe's comment. "No not exactly," She said.

The cigarette smoke also bothering her, Avery begins to wheeze heavily. Raising her hands towards Hugh, she asks... "Um... Mr. Smithe... I know you think that we're <Cough!> dangerous assassins from people that want you dead but... Can you ease up on the <HACK!> smoking? I've sort of got a weak lung..."
Avery then proceeds to cough up what seems to be a bit of green smog from underneath her mask...
