Brief: Zen's team is sent to Baltimore to try and recruit a small mutant gang that has been running around the city. Though the "gang" label might sound malicious, they aren't quite nefarious evil doers as lost kids trying to find their way. The goal is to convince them to join the Academy!
The jet finally began true descent, and eased off into a gentle landing. It was obvious Firehawk was quite the pilot. The hatch opened up and the students were ushered down the ramp to the ground.
"Follow Robbie's lead, and trust in one another. You can contact us if you need assistance, but I think you'll do fine. Be safe, and keep these prospectives safe too, please?" Zen told them, sounding genuinely concerned for her students, though she hid it with a coy smile.
"Our friend Neko is going to come pick you guys up and drive you to the city. He's a little weird, but he's nice. Its getting dark, so he'll show you a place to stay. Good luck, Boxers!"
The jet took off, and it wasn't more than 10 minutes than a van rolled up. The driver side door popped open, and out scurried a skinny and odd little man. His hair was curly and greasy, his eyes slightly bulging, but his smile so friendly that he had to be for real.
"Hello, I am Neko!" he said excitedly, "I'm going to host you kids!"

Angelique drew back, he kind of looked like a terrorist and she had absolutely no intention of getting in his nasty van! She quickly calculated her exit strategy and made a running leap at the tiny Captain, wrapping her arms around his waist and staring up at him tearfully,
"I don't feel well!" She cried, "Tell them to bring back the jet!!"

Robbie blushed from the close proximity but shook his head at the girl. "It's okay, if the Professor trusts him he can't be bad and we still have Theo and Nadya to protect you if he tries anything." Robbie said sincerly, patting her shoulder and looking to the two older teens for some kind added reassurance.
"Excuse me, are you the person Professor Hyun-Lin called to get us?" Robbie called out, turning to Neko. He had made out the word host through the man's accented english, did they have a hotel waiting for them?

"Of course of course I am! I am Neko!" he cried, unfazed, clapping his hands together as reintroduced himself [OOC: Allow me to reintroduce myself, my name is...]. He opened up the sliding door to the minivan. It looked recently, but shoddily cleaned, as if only 20 minutes ago it was filthy, and a quick once over for trash and....swept out with a broom? Poor methodology, regardless. He waved his right hand frantically for them to get in.
"I will take you to your...uh, hotel! Yes, hotel! You will fight for mutants, yes?" he nodded.

Angelique held fast onto Robbie's shirt and didn't show any signs of letting go.
"He doesn't even know what a hotel is!" She whispered heatedly, "Don't do it!"

Nadya, sighing, placed her palm against her forehead.
"Is this a joke?" She said, without making it clear to who she was speaking to. However, it did become clear as soon as she entered the van, sat down inside of it and sighed for a second time.
"Seriously! Let's just go."

"Yeah, I don't wanna sit here all night, let's do this!" Theo said, tugging Angelique into the van with the help of Robbie. Theo sat next to Nadya while Robbie was trapped with Angelique.
Theo looked over at Nadya and rolled his eyes at Angelique. Could she possibly function as a team member, at all?
The van drove along towards the city, Neko prattling on excitedly about the stuff they passed or things that came over the radio. Theo and Robbie tried to engage him, if only to keep from being rude. After half an hour, the van finally pulled up to a decent hotel - nothing fancy, but not run down either - where Neko jumped up and began opening the doors. Theo leaned over to Robbie, and spoke.
"Are we supposed to...I dunno, tip him or something?" he asked, half joking.

Angelique, appalled that she'd been forced into this cesspool held onto Robbie for dear life through the whole ride. When the Van pulled to a stop, she'd practically sprang out the vehicle and taken her poor captive with her. She glared at Theo, as if this was all his fault, but didn't dare say a word. In fact, Angelique didn't have to. It was obvious. Tipping Terrorists is Unpatriotic. Almost as unpatriotic as liking French Food.

Robbie gave Neko a much deserved word of thanks, trying to squeeze his words out due to the almost vice-grip hold Angelique had on him. As soon as the group entered the hotel Robbie shrunk down to about 8 inches in height, just a bit taller than an average action figure as he sat in Angelique's now cupped hands. If she was going to keep with him, Robbie figured, he might as well make it less awkward for the two of them to do so while moving.
"Is he going to check us in too?" Robbie asked Theo, his voice coming from the earpiece the blonde mutant had been given, he doubt Theo would have been able to hear him otherwise.

One moment she was clutching Robbie and the next she knew...she was holding a mouse.
"....EW!" Angelique screeched and tossed Robbie in the air. She then scurried in the other direction, not stopping until she was on the other side of the room. Settling on a chair, she plopped down and crossed her arms with a pout.

Robbie felt the force of Angelique's push, the weightless stall of being airborn and then the stomach lurching fall which placed him righ at the desk counter which he hit face first, sliding across the counter for a few seconds before stopping.
"Owwww..." Robbie moaned, tears forming in his eyes as he touched his now throbbing skull, finger retracting as he felt the ache ring out from the top of his head. He sniffled a bit but tried to collect himself, he couldn't tear up in front of the team he was supposed to read.

"What the heck, you could really hurt him! Theo chided at Angelique. This confirmed she was going to be nothing but an obstacle for the entirety of the mission. Maybe they could just ditch her somewhere.
Theo walked over to check on Robbie (surprisingly concerned) but Neko charged past him to the counter.
"How can I he- OH HEY NEKO!" said the guy at the front desk. They exchanged an awkward high five and then began jabbering so fast it was incoherent to anyone else. How could they speak like that and consider it conversation?
Neko turned to them and smiled while the concierge handed them two sets of room keys - one for the ladies, one for the boys - and pointed them to the elevator. The hotel was only about 4 floor, so it wouldn't be hard to navigate.
"Let's put our stuff away and get out. Figure we should do something tonight," Theo said as he placed their captain on his shoulder.

Mostly because Meeperz felt obligated to post, Angelique quietly followed the boys to the fourth floor and just prayed that the rooms were manageable.

OOC: Sigh, nobody is posting. I'll do it.
The group went upstairs, placing their stuff down in their adequate, although not extravagant, rooms. At Theo's behest, they decided to head out. They donned their uniforms, but as the boys were getting dressed, there was a knock at their door, exuberant and then the yelling of Neko. Theo opened the door half dressed, and Neko handed him a set of keys. It was to the team's vehicle, an old Taurus. It'd have to do.
Soon, the group met downstairs and made their way to their current car. Stopping outside of it, Robbie on his shoulder, Theo turned to the girls.
"Everybody have communicators? We need some way to find these kids," he stated.

Angelique's hand shot up before Theo even finished his question, "Yeaaaah...I don't like homeless people," She shrugged and looked off, completely satisfied with her statement,
"I'll be in Starbucks!"

"Well geez, just go, sounds like you're not gonna be any use anyway!" Theo teased, turning to his teammates for their support. He thought it was pretty funny, poking fun at this stuck up outsider who seemed to think she was better than them. She wasn't part of the team.
His teammates didn't seem to find it as entertaining as he did.

He thought it was pretty funny, poking fun at this stuck up outsider who seemed to think she was better than them. She wasn't part of the team. His teammates didn't seem to find it as entertaining as he did. Angelique didn't flinch at his comment and continued on her way across the street. As far as she was concerned, he was 100% correct, she wouldn't be much use at all. She stretched her tiny little limbs and hopped over a puddle before peaking out in the street for any oncoming traffic. But before she could leave, there was a crashing sound and the ricochet effect of car alarms. She looked up in time to practically be trampled by four teens stampeding past. One, in his brashness, pushed Angelique down to the ground. "Ow!" She cried, not bothering to stop her tears as she checked her scraped knee, "Hey!"

Robbie frowned at Angelique's refusal to help out on the mission but soon found himself feeling sorry for her as she sat in the street crying like a little girl because of her knee. He felt the still sort spot at the top of his head and let out a tiny sigh, "We should go help her out." the young mutant said in a way that implied a command rather than a suggestion.
After all, if they couldn't get along with one another, what hope did they have trying to gain the trust of complete strangers?

Angelique noticed when her team came over to her and at that moment felt a twinge of guilt for the way she'd been acting,
"I'm okay..." she whispered as she stood up and pulled at her dress, "Thank you..."
She glanced up at Robbie without really looking at him, then like a puppy, scurried behind the two leading boys and glanced at the concrete.

OOC: And here I am! Sorry about the delay folks!
While the others attended to Angelique, Theo made the rash decision of giving chase. He fumbled with his earpiece, trying to make sure it was on as he ran.
"Guys, these are teens! Running from car alarms and loud noises! Maybe they can help us - oof! - find them!" he yelled into it, taking deep and heavy breaths every few words, dodging around items. With that said, he focused on running as they turned the corner and ran down an alley, out of sight of their teammates. All the training was paying off, as Theo was feeling pretty good.
The crossed another alley and ran across an open lot, one of them looking over and yelling at Theo. Suddenly, Theo realized he was alone, with four teens, and nobody else in a dark city he didn't know. He couldn't be more than few blocks away...
"You chose the wrong people to follow..." one of the teens said as the four approached him. He was a boy with his hood up, and Theo couldn't even see his face in the darkness.

Angelique was startled by Theo's assertiveness. She could hear his huffing in the earpiece they'd forced them to wear and then of course, the background noise which eventually included some sinister talking.
She rubbed her forehead but didn't say a word. What could she do anyway? It was like...the team Captain's responsibility.

"Theo!" Robbie had called out to his teammate but the thick headed mutant had already passed the corner, he was much faster than the rest of them. Robbie could hear Theo huffing through his ear-piece but that soon stopped, replaced by an eerie silence until...
"You chose the wrong people to follow..." the voice of a young teen was caught by the microphone and it wasn't Theo. If the four teens were the mutants they were sent to persuade into enrollment then not only was Theo outnumber but they could very well blow any chances they have with one false move.
"We have to get to Theo." Robbie said, trying to keep the urgency in his voice to a minimum.
